Meet the cast of LYING WITH BADGERS - Enrico Nassi

Your Name: Enrico Nassi

Character in the show: Asher Potts

How is this character like you? Different?
Asher devotes the lion’s share of his thought and efforts to sustaining and growing the legacy and future of the Blackfeet Tribe. As an enrolled member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe and member of the Cherokee Nation, I believe that part of ensuring a future for Native Americans in this country is contributing to and changing the narrative through which we are understood. A larger and more nuanced perception of American Indian identity is being shaped today and engaging with that reality is essential to cultivating a better future for our communities. The former perspective is one that I believe Asher and I share at our core. On the other hand, I think where the character Asher and I differ is that he has a lot more experience skinning woodland creatures than I do.

Your first acting gig was:
My first acting gig was an ensemble part in “The Trial of Mother Goose” in 5th grade. Changed my life and I can assure you my interpretation was definitive!

Favorite Theatre experience as an audience member:
I saw the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park Production of “Much Ado About Nothing” with Danielle Brooks and Grantham Coleman this past summer. It was everything! It proved that Shakespeare can be performed as an expression of our current identities, Shakespeare is not just for some of us, it’s for all us.

When you have a five-minute break during rehearsal, what do you spend that time doing?
Eating Ravenously

What do you do when you’re not doing theatre?
Walking my dog Ari, rock climbing and eating ravenously.

If you had a magic wand, what show would you do next?
The show that is cooking in my head at the moment!
